People were legit trampled over (and hospitalized) during holiday shopping in 1996
when Tickle Me Elmo was introduced to the world. After a special surprise appearance on The Rosie O'Donnell Show that year, the laughing stuffed Elmo became a mega fad.
Here's the thing: Tickle Me Elmo in his original form was glorious. You would simply press the doll to release vibrating laughter that's actually contagious. It was such a hit with every kid (and adult!) that the toys are still being sold around the internet today for upwards of $100 on eBay and Amazon.
Well, we are thrilled to announce that Tickle Me Elmo is about to hit shelves in a few weeks again, and you can get ahead of the holiday craze. We can't wait to get our hands on these red furry characters because they're just like the original. The newest Tickle Me Elmo is quite retro, as it'll simply feature two spots that you can press to send him into gut-crunching hysterical laughter (similar to the original). One spot is his tummy, and the other is his foot!
Not only will kids be getting giddy with their new Elmos moving into 2018, but we have a feeling parents will be tempted to have a good ol' laugh with the friendly dude, too.
