Star Wars fans already had "The Last Jedi" to look forward to come December, "Solo" in
2018 and Episode IX in 2019.
But on Thursday, the future got even more Force-ful. Disney chief Bob Iger announced that "Last Jedi" director Rian Johnson would write and direct a new series of Star Wars films."In shepherding this new trilogy, which is separate from the episodic Skywalker saga, Johnson will introduce new characters from a corner of the galaxy that Star Wars lore has never before explored," the company said in a press release posted on StarWars.com.
